Welcome to TriRiver Water! We are honored to be your water utility provide and want you to have the best experience possible. To that end, if you ever have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to share them with us by calling our customer service team at 919-775-8215.

Please consider signing up for TriRiver Water Alerts. This is the fastest way we can inform you about interruptions or changes to your service. For example, we use our alert system to keep customers informed about water outages.

Please remember to never block access to your water meter. Our meter department must be able to get to your meter when necessary.

How to read your bill

If you live in Sanford or Lee County, click here to learn about the different sections of your bill.

If you live anywhere else, details about your bill can be found below:

  • Account Information: This section contains your customer number, service location, bill number, bill date, account number, account type, and due date.
    Service Location is where you receive service from TriRiver Water. it might be different from your mailing address.
    Bill Date is the date your bill was generated. Bills are generally generated and mailed on the same day.
    Account Type is the service address' categorization.
    Due Date is when the current bill is due.
  • Billing Information: This section contains billing information such as the amount of your previous balance, total current billing, any adjustments, last payment received, penalties charged, unpaid balance, and total amount due.
  • Usage/service Information:This section contains your consumption information. You can  find your meter serial number, meter read dates, actual meter readings, usage, and charge amounts.
    1. Description: This section shows the services you receive from TriRiver Water (typically you'll find Water, Sewer, or Irrigation).
    2. Consumption Amount: This is the price for how much of each service you used during the billing period. This amount fluctuates month to month based on your usage.
    3. Base Amount: This is the administrative cost of the service. It is charged for every meter you have. This price will not fluctuate month-to-month. If you don't use any water, you will still be expected to pay the Base Amount for the service (you can contact us if you no longer use this service and wish to cancel it).
    4. Previous Read Date / Current Read Date: These are the previous two dates when TriRiver Water read your meters.
    5. Usage: This is how many cubic feet of water you used in the previous billing cycle. TriRiver Water bills in cubic feet, but many meters do not read or display usage in cubic feet. Therefore, many customers cannot simply subtract their previous reading from their current reading to find their usage. 
    6. Charge Amount: This is your total price for the service. It is the sum of your Consumption Amount and Base Amount.
  • Bill Summary: The bottom portion of your bill is the remittance, which should be included with your payment and mailed to our utility bill lockbox processor. Information such as your service location, bill number, account/customer number, due date, and total due is repeated here.
