Water line upgrades planned for Homewood Acres

Home Posted on October 30, 2025

TriRiver Water intends to replace more than a mile of smaller, outdated water lines in the Homewood Acres neighborhood.

Most of the pipes carrying water through the neighborhood are 6 inches wide, but some of the oldest pipes in the neighborhood are just 1 or 2 inches wide. Those small pipes restrict flow throughout the system and are more susceptible to breaks and other problems.

That's why TriRiver Water is working to replace those pipes and upgrade them to new 6-inch versions.

The lines that will be replaced are on Wind Sound Way, Perry Avenue, N Glenn Avenue, Cliftwood Drive, N Garden Avenue, N Ivey Avenue, and Sedgefield Drive. In the map below, the sections targeted for replacement are circled in red.

TriRiver Water is working to get state approval for this project. After that, engineers will begin work on the design details needed to complete the replacement.

Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2027. The physical work will likely take a year to complete. During that time, construction in the neighborhood could result in temporary road/lane closures as well as some temporary water service outages.
